One night at the Zoo....

We've been wanting to take the kids to the zoo since we've been in Abilene... and last Thursday Melissa invited us to go with her. The zoo was open late & had a bluegrass band performing. Anyway, I was super excited to take the kids. And apparently early evening is the perfect time to see the animals active.... it was cool that night! The kids got the chance to see all the animals....

Ethan chasing the unsuspecting birds.

The rhino playing & sliding around with his ball.
Photobucket
One of the giraffes before we started feeding him.
Photobucket
Ethan, Dylan & Kade shoving cracker after cracker at him.

WOW! My what a long tongue you have, mister giraffe!
This always shocks me no matter how many times I see those gigantic tongues!

Photobucket
I took alot of pictures of the giraffes... if you have ever been to the Abilene Zoo, you know why. It's the best animal to visit. And cutest!

He's lookin' right into my camera...
Photobucket
All the lions were pretty cool...and were roaring the entire night.
Photobucket
The jaguar walked in circles the whole time!
Photobucket
The toothless bear.... lol. He's kinda on his last limb. Poor thing.
Photobucket
Beautiful Maira.... she loved running around everywhere!
Photobucket
Ethan being brave... knowing that big snake was on the other
side of the glass.

Photobucket
My handsome men....

THE End.
Thanks Melissa for inviting us. :)
We will be going back again real soon!

I love that zoo. It is the perfect size for little kids. Wish I could have come!
BTW- Colbie had her cake but she wouldn't put her hands in it. She didn't want to eat until I cut it up on her tray. Bummer!
